Sulayma Hassan

Registered Physiotherapist

Sulayma Hassan is a Registered Physiotherapist working out of The Greater Toronto Area. She graduated in 2008, and obtained her Physiotherapy education from Gulf Medical University, in U.A.E, and University of Toronto. She has previously worked as a personal trainer and life coach, and has a strong interest in promoting a holistic approach to healing with a sensitivity to cultural differences and goals. From her personal experience of recovering from a chronic pain syndrome, she strongly believes that healing is a personal journey. She bases her approach on building a good relationship with her clients to better understand their needs, and to help them achieve their goals by using a combination of evidence based treatments, with a focus on manual therapy, acupuncture, exercise, education, and mindfulness.

She finds joy in her work and seeing her clients living a fulfilling life. In her free time Sulayma enjoys cooking, yoga, meditation, reading, painting, spending time with family and friends, traveling, taking care of her plants and being out in nature. She volunteers to mentor and educate future physiotherapists at the University of Toronto in preparation for their credentialing exams. She is registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists in Ontario, and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Ontario Physiotherapy Association.

Dr. Carol Rego

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Carol’s passion for health and fitness was sparked during her Undergraduate training at McMaster University as she pursued a degree in Honours Kinesiology. During this time, she engaged in competitive Windmill- Pitch (underhand pitch) baseball for 3 years, which allowed Dr. Carol to better understand the mechanisms and forces that affect athletes in throwing based sports and the injuries sustained in the process.

As a multifaceted individual, Dr. Carol has trained extensively in competitive Latin Dance (Salsa) for 8 years. She has performed and trained in the Canada, United States and over seas in a multitude of competitive Latin Dance events. Having been exposed to a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries through dance and sport, Dr. Carol understands the importance of Pre- and Post season training and conditioning. This sparked an interest in learning how to adopt a preventative method on minimizing injury and maximizing health and function.

Dr. Carol’s Post- Graduate training in Doctor of Chiropractic has allowed her to specialize in Restoring Functional Range of Motion, improving movement patterns and increasing pain-free movement in individuals with Acute, Arthritic and Chronic pain conditions. She enjoys working with patients to address Postural imbalances, to improve Joint Mobility in people with degenerative joint changes and works on optimizing health through Active Rehabilitation and Strength training education in the athletic and non-athletic populations. Dr. Carol uses a combination of Restorative adjustment techniques and active Strength Training skills to help her clients get back on their feet and teaches them how to maintain their progress.

She has worked extensively with physical training and rehabing dancers for the Araguacu Latin Dance Company and also was a part-time on-site field therapist for the competitive National level football players on the GTA All Stars team.

Dr. Carol spends her down time Hiking, Skiing, paddle boarding and Rollerskating. She encourages all her clients to make movement a part of living a healthy life

Maria Mata

Registered Massage Therapist

Maria Mata is a Registered Massage Therapist and is a Humber College Graduate. During the four years at Humber College, Maria gained extensive knowledge of how Massage Therapy offers a myriad of physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

Massage Therapy is proven to reduce muscle tension, improve blood circulation and enhance flexibility. Maria has the knowledge and skills to treat populations such as athletes, pregnant patients, and individuals with chronic pain management. Delving in various modalities, such as swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release.

She is committed to providing the necessary ability to trust and build rapport with clients, most importantly, to approach client care, creating a welcoming and serene atmosphere by conducting assessments and tailoring treatment plans to all individuals by maintaining confidentiality and ethical boundaries.

Raymond Li is and has been enthusiastic about healthcare and fitness all his life.

His journey began when he studied at Brock University where he completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology Honours (BKin Honours). This passion for the science of the human body then led him to finish his certification in Pedorthics, essentially making him a specialist in the biomechanics of the human body. Now he spends his days helping fit people for orthotics and braces so that they can reduce and eliminate their daily pains. Everyone should be able to live a healthy active lifestyle!
